Arts & Culture on Anna Maria Island

Sure, we know you’re here for the surf, sand and blue skies but most beach destinations are lame when it comes to culture. Not us! Island galleries, fabulous museums, performing arts and concert venues beckon. Even when the weather’s nice! And they make excellent refuge when you’ve gotten a little too much sun. Here are some of our favorites.

The Studio at Gulf and Pine

Offering an eclectic array of exhibits, instructional classes and lectures, this venue serves as Anna Maria Island’s cultural art gallery and event facility. Founded by the First Lady of Florida, Rhea Chiles, the permanent collection is comprised of paintings that hung in the governor’s office.
