About the Trolley
Anna Maria Island offers a free trolley that can take you to any destination on the seven-mile stretch of land. There are various stops throughout the island at all of the major tourist attractions, starting with the Anna Maria City Pier. The trolley continues its journey through the island while stopping every two to four blocks, at stops including Pine Avenue, the Plaza, and Manatee Public Beach. The last stop takes you to Coquina Beach on the south side of the island.
If you take the trolley to the end of the line at Coquina Beach, you’ll then have the option to hop on the Longboat Key trolley for just $0.75. This will then take you into downtown Sarasota, providing an affordable and convenient way to get you onto the mainland.
General Information
The trolley is always free to ride and operates every day of the week. It begins service at 6 a.m. and ends at 10 p.m. There are 14 stops along the trolley route, and the trolley visits each stop about every 20 minutes. Every trolley is air-conditioned and is wheelchair accessible. You will also find bike racks on the front if you need to stow your bike. If you have a dog, you can bring them on the trolley if they’re in a carrier.The Anna Maria Island trolley is one of the best features of the area, and it’s the easiest and most affordable way to reach any of the various things to do on Anna Maria Island.
