There are about five main golf courses near Anna Maria Island, and on the island, for you to explore. While we certainly encourage exploration, most would consider Manatee County Golf Course the definitive place to golf in the area.
After the 2013 installation of quality TifEagle greens, the course has really risen above the pack. Manatee Golf Course is located east of Bradenton, off Anna Maria Island, and can be easily found within a 20-minute drive from just about any part of the island.
It’s known for its elevated challenge, this Pope Golf-managed course really tests the best regional players. This year-round open course offers 6,747 yards of golf for about $39.

Legacy Golf Club at Lakewood Ranch
The Lakewood Ranch course has some really interesting features ideal for anyone looking for some authentically different play. It features wide fairways, a Par 3 island green, about 100 head-scratching bunkers, and large expanses of uneven greens.
Legacy Golf Club at Lakewood Ranch is about 20 minutes from Anna maria Island. Take some extra time in the afternoon to enjoy some nearby Anna Maria Island attractions.

River Strand Golf and Country Club
River Strand has 27 holes, with an accessible 39,000 square foot clubhouse, a tiki bar, tennis, pickleball, two large pools, and other convenient amenities.
But for most, it’s all about the golf. Play golf on a sprawling and bright championship golf facility designed by acclaimed architect Arthur Hills. We recommend playing on the Tributary. It features 2 strong par 5’s and three-hole shots to close out the course, known for its extremely long hitting range.

Stoneybrook Golf and Country Club
Stoneybrook is located at the Palmer Ranch in Sarasota, but it’s worth the extra few miles. The 18-hole championship golf course offers 165 acres of ponds, large natural areas, a varied skill level with each successive hole, and wildlife. It’s a highly-revered course for anyone looking for something with great value in Sarasota.
