Guide to Anna Maria Island Piers

Anna Maria Island is a quaint, yet vibrant vacation destination, providing the perfect balance between relaxation and activity. You can spend your days lounging on the white sand beaches, chatting with the locals at a coffee shop, or strolling through the towns and learning about the history of the area. One of the best places to explore on Anna Maria Island is the piers. The three Anna Maria Island piers are great for fishing or just enjoying the view, and they’re all near our Anna Maria Island vacation rentals.

Rod and Reel Pier

Rod and Reel Pier combines two of the most popular Anna Maria Island activities; eating and fishing. The restaurant on the property is a family-friendly destination that offers some of the freshest seafood around, with everything from crab cakes to grouper fish or the mahi-mahi sandwich.

Once you’re done with your meal, you can walk right outside onto the pier to cast your line and try to catch some mackerel or flounder. It’s also a perfect place to watch the boats sail by or see if another fisherman makes their big catch. Rod and Reel Pier is located in the city of Anna Maria on the northeastern side of the island.

Anna Maria City Pier

Of all the things to do on Anna Maria Island, the Anna Maria City Pier is a must. It was originally built in the 1900s and still stands as a memorable landmark. The 700-foot-long pier is the perfect place to watch the sunset over the Gulf of Mexico or spot marine life like dolphins and manatees.

Feel free to fish over the pier, and you don’t even have to bring your own equipment! There is a convenient shop right on the pier that offers fishing supplies and bait. Additionally, the pier sits at the North end of the island just off of Pine Avenue, which is home to some of the best shopping on the island.

Bridge Street Pier/Bradenton Beach Pier

Like many of the other Anna Maria Island piers, this destination has multiple attractions nearby. Head into the Anna Maria Island Oyster Bar for any meal of the day, relax on the swing set, take pictures in front of the iconic clock tower, or grab an ice cream cone while you stroll along the pier. If you’re planning your vacation and you find yourself asking, “Where is a pier on Anna Maria Island?”, don’t worry! These three piers are spread out throughout the island, so you’re never too far away from one. Best of all, they’re all easy to reach from our Anna Maria rentals. Contact us today to learn more about the area and to start planning your getaway with Mainsail Vacation Rentals!
