All About the Island Trolley
The Anna Maria Island Trolley has been helping vacation goers and full-time residents make the most of their surroundings for years. Many people opt to leave their cars at home due to how easy it is to get around without one on Anna Maria Island. The ease of getting around is one of the many things that contribute to the wonderful, laid back atmosphere here.
The trolley stops at all sorts of great spots, and since it’s free; you can get on and off as many times as you need in order to check out all of the things that are on your bucket list.
Trolley Routes
The first stop along Anna Maria Islands route 14 Trolley is the Anna Maria Island Pier. If you plan on catching the trolley here, you might want to arrive a little bit early so that you can soak up the atmosphere and check out what the pier has to offer before heading over to your next destination.
After the Pier, the trolley has a stop every 2 to 4 blocks throughout the Island. You’ll be able to get off at shopping plazas, dining destinations, as well as various beaches. If you take the Anna Maria Island Trolley all the way to the end of the route, you can switch on to the Longboat Key trolley for just 75 cents.
This trolley will take you into Sarasota, which will allow you to do even more exploring and sightseeing. Sarasota is generally laid back compared to some of the other nearby cities, but there is still a ton to do and it makes a wonderful day trip.

The Anna Maria Island Trolley is available for use between the hours of 6 AM and 10:30 PM. The trolley has scheduled stops at each location along its route every 20 minutes, so even if you accidentally miss it the first time, you won’t have to wait long at all for it to come back around to your location again. If you’re interested in taking it to Sarasota, it’s important to be aware that service only to the area from Anna Maria from the hours of 6 AM – 11 AM.
All of the trolleys are air conditions and designed with your comfort in mind. The trolley stops along the route are covered and offer protection from the sun, too!
